Prepare a delicious festive meal this Holi with Häfele Appliances.

“Holi Hai!” The very sound of these two words brings a smile to everybody’s face. Bursts of colour, songs to make you dance, and of course, delicious holi pakwans. As you gear up for this festival of spring, here are a few recipes Häfele’s wonderful range of Kitchen Appliances can help you prepare.

Fuel up your festive energy with this unique Cold Pressed Juice

Holi is truly a celebration of vibrant energy. As you prepare to dance through the day, fuel  up with a glass of freshly made cold-pressed juice using the Häfele Magnus Cold Pressed Juicer. Unlike ready-made pasteurised juices available in the market, our cold press juicer prevents oxidisation. This means the ingredients retain the maximum amount of  nutrients, making the juice taste better.

The Häfele Magnus Cold Pressed Juicer ensures that it extracts the maximum amount of  juice from fruits and vegetables put into the juicer. Easy to assemble, it has an 83mm inlet and a choice of two filters, to help you decide the texture of the juice. Its unique Smart Flow system allows you to mix and hold juices, when juicing more than one fruit or vegetable. And when you are ready to pour, its smart cap controls the flow of your refreshing juice.

Here is a recipe for a cold pressed juice that will fill your body with energy. The ingredients  you will need are:

● 1 beetroot (peeled and roughly chopped)
● 1 orange (peeled)
● 4-5 stalks of celery (roughly chopped)
● 1 inch of fresh ginger
● ½ cup of coconut water or plain water
● ½ lemon (sliced thinly)

3 simple steps to make the energy juice using a Häfele Magnus Cold Pressed Juicer:

1. Add all of the above ingredients into the Häfele Magnus Cold Pressed Juicer.
2. Set the filter setting to fine, and let the juicer work its magic.
3. Enjoy the juice and the energy it brings! If you want to store it for later, store it in an airtight container and refrigerate.

Give a baked spin to a traditional holi recipe

What is Holi without those wonderful Gujiyas. But did you know that you can cut down the calories and still keep the taste by baking delicious Holi Gujiyas using a combination of the Häfele Verena 490 Built In Hob and the Häfele Midora 81L Pure Steam Oven.

The Häfele Verena 490 Built-in Hob has 4 semi brass burners, with auto ignition, full cast iron pan support and accurate direct flame dispersion. These allow for the perfect slow simmer it takes to prepare your stuffing for delicious Gujiyas.  Our unique spill proof design makes cleaning and maintenance effortless allowing you  to spend your valuable time with your loved ones.

The Häfele Midora 81L Full Steam Oven revolutionises cooking by blending traditional baking methods with cutting-edge steam technology. This combination ensures your food, like the beloved gujiya, retains its essential nutrients, moisture, and flavour. Experience the joy of a perfect gujiya with a tender, melt-in-your-mouth filling, and a perfectly cooked exterior – a true delight for your taste buds.

Here are the ingredients needed to make mouthwatering baked Holi Gujiyas. For the pastry dough:

● In a bowl take 1 cup whole wheat flour (atta), 1 cup all-purpose flour (maida) and ¼ teaspoon salt.
● Heat 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter) in a small pan or bowl on the Häfele Verena 490 Built-in Hob. Its semi-brass burners will ensure a precise flame so the ghee melts and becomes warm.
● Pour the warm ghee on the flour and mix to form a bread crumb like texture.
●  Add ⅓ to ½ cup water in parts and begin to knead the dough until it is firm and tight.
● Cover with a moist kitchen napkin and set aside for 30 minutes.

For the stuffing:

● Chop 10 cashews, 10 almonds, 10 pistachios and ½ tablespoon raisins. Set aside.
● Melt ½ tablespoon ghee in a pan on a low heat using the Häfele Verena 490 Built in Hob.
● Add 1 cup crumbled or grated khoya and cook the khoya until it begins to gather around itself. Switch off the heat and place the pan on the kitchen countertop
● Add ⅓ cup powdered sugar (or confectioner’s sugar), the chopped nuts, raisins and ½ teaspoon cardamom powder.
● Mix everything well and keep the stuffing aside.

Start Assembly:

● Divide the dough and roll each part in your palms to form a ball.
● Dust the rolling board lightly with some flour. Roll each ball.
● Place about 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of the prepared khoya filling on one side of the circle, keeping the edges empty.
● Carefully, bring together both the edges and join. Gently press the edges. The edges have to be pressed well and sealed.
● With a Gujiya/karanji cutter or small pizza cutter, trim the extra edges.

Time to bake:

● Preheat the Häfele Midora 81L Full Steam Oven to 200 degrees celsius (390 degree Fahrenheit).
● Brush oil or melted ghee on the Gujiyas evenly all over. If using oil, use a neutral flavoured oil.
● Place them on a baking tray.
● Bake the Gujiyas for 20 to 30 minutes at 200 degrees celsius (390-degree Fahrenheit) until they are golden.
● Once baked, place them on a wired rack for cooling.
● You can then set your Häfele Midora 81L Full Steam Oven on warm mode to keep the Gujiyas fresh and crisp!
